Good Morning everyone and thank you for your patience!
As I have taken a bit of a brain break from writing this newsletter, the market has decided to take a break as well and consolidate sideways.
If you remember, our last letter that was sent out, relayed a sell signal from the algorithm I pay for. Some buy signals are gradually coming in for alt coins, but not for Bitcoin just yet.
During my time away from the newsletter, I did the following:
1. paused billing so no one was paying for a nonexistent newsletter
2. Made friends with some of the brightest minds in the crypto space down here in Puerto Rico
Aside from traders that are down here capitalizing on the tax breaks, there are a handful of developers that range from founders of top 10 cryptocurrencies to ones that are launching their first projects.
Which leads me to the offer that I would like to introduce to you today and will have my brother, Matt, explain in further detail regarding the technical significance in the digital age.
In laymanâs terms, the project is called PKT and it will allow any entity to earn PKT by offering their spare bandwidth to other users who need immediate access.
Ex: If you live above a restaurant, someone could spend 1 PKT in order to be able to utilize the spare bandwidth that you willingly offered to contribute to the network.
This company is still not listed on exchanges yet but is trading OTC at around 2 cents per coin. There are a MAX amount of 6 billion coins which means if this reaches a 6 billion dollar market cap, fully diluted, then you are looking at $1 per 1PKT.
Now I would not be presenting this opportunity to you all without having skin in the game so please understand I do own a pretty large amount and that is because I have met the people running the project and I place my bets on founders.
I will now have Matt dive into why this is revolutionary from a technological point of view.
PKT: Technical & Practical Case
Hola subscribers, this is Matt Markley, I edit these newsletters before being sent out to you all and will assist in writing more columns like this moving forward.
To start off, letâs consider how Airbnb disrupted the hospitality industry: gave people a viable alternative to hotels, allowed property owners to receive compensation for offering their homes, apartments, condos, rental units, etc. for rent via Airbnb, and created a decentralized network of people who now in their own right could be considered small âhotels" through ownership of multiple properties and creating a business directly through Airbnb. There are many others, but you get the point.
I want you to think of PKT as the âAirbnb of the internet.â Just as Airbnb permits anyone with a hospitable property to become a hotel, PKT will give anyone with an internet connection the ability to become an Internet Service Provider (ISP).
So what are the implications? PKT will not only allow anyone with an internet connection to offer their spare bandwidth up for compensation, but will also decentralize control these legacy ISPs possess over infrastructure and the telecom market at large.
Directly from the PKT Teamâs whitepaper, which can be found here:
âWhat is needed is a system that lowers the barrier for people to become both an âinfrastructure providerâ and âservice provider. We propose a new network model where people are incentivized to provide internet access with minimal technical knowledge. This effort collectively decentralizes internet infrastructure, drives down the cost of bandwidth, and incentivizes people to improve connectivity in rural and urban areas worldwide.â
Youâre likely wondering how this would all be secured since you donât want someone on the other side of the world with access to your direct home network. Without getting too in the weeds, at a high level; PKTâs Network architecture is designed with with always-on end-to-end encryption that requires bandwidth to be expended as opposed to processing power (as with the SHA-256 bit encryption algorithm). Thereâs many other security features that are weaved in throughout the network. Iâd suggest diving into the whitepaper if youâre looking for a comprehensive explanation.
As the last few years have shown, the publicâs trust in major, centralized institutions is slowly deteriorating. Currently, if youâre not using a VPN in your home network, your ISP has direct access to view your internet traffic and leverage that however they want, including throttling your bandwidth if youâre acting in a manner that they deem inappropriate (with PKT, the network will be faster as more users join the community). Weâve seen this take place on pretty much every social network, legacy media, financial services, in our own government, etc.
PKT provides a secure and private means of connecting and using the internet while also being compensated for offering your own resources to the network. Iâm really excited about this project as I believe this is the route a number of resources will end up being distributed as we move throughout this decade and into the next.
If you want to get involved with the opportunity above, please feel free to reach out and we can put you in touch with the team members for any further questions.
Moving forward, we will keep this as a free subscription. For those who have paid in the past, I appreciate you helping us get to this point and your capital went towards helping me personally get to where I am. I canât thank you all enough for being a part of this journey with us!
We are Just Getting $tarted here and we look forward to seeing what the future holds for all of us.
Cheers friends,
